Summary: Several liquids and in particular aqueous solutions show the appearance of micro-heterogeneity although they are macroscopically homogeneous. In binary system different solvation regimes may exist, and there are some indication of the liquid-liquid phase transitions between these regimes. We believe this is an important feature of many liquids which may have important chemical and biological consequences.
